vacation of a lifetimeStay at Settlers Inn Bed & Breakfast
Our second trip on March 7th was to the Settlers Inn in Hawley, Pennsylvania. With the work week behind us, we were ready to hit the road for another Vacation of a Lifetime getaway. Upon entering, we were amazed at the giant wood burning fireplace in the lobby. It was still very cold outside, so that fire felt oh-so-good! Off to the side of the lobby was a full bar with Happy Hour prices, so we relaxed in front of the fire. While sitting there we got to take in a small wedding.  They exchanged their vows in front of the fireplace.

After observing the wedding, we went out to dinner. We journeyed south of the Inn to the shores of beautiful frozen Lake Wallenpaupack to the Boathouse Restaurant. This restaurant offered casual dining, and the food was good.  We then headed back to the Settlers Inn for the night.

Saturday morning we were treated to an awesome breakfast in the dining room of the Inn. We both decided to have steak and eggs. The entrée was delicious, and we were stuffed! We enjoyed our overnight stay at the Settlers Inn. Thank you to the Settlers Inn for having us!

vacation of a lifetimeThe French Manor Inn and Spa
The French Manor Inn and Spa in South Sterling, Pennsylvania, was our third trip. We arrived around 5 p.m. on the March 21 and received a warm welcome from Becky. She showed us to our amazing suite in the La Maisonneuve complex.  The room was beautiful and enchanting, as it had a 2-person jacuzzi, a gas fireplace, and a refrigerator with complimentary cheese, crackers and grapes. Last, but not least, was the sherry and bottle of champagne (which we finished the whole bottle). The delectable food did not stop there.  There were complimentary chocolate covered pretzels. These pretzels were delicious. Pam could have eaten the box herself, especially the dark chocolate ones!

We opened the curtains in the room and saw the amazing view of the Pocono Mountains. We had our own private balcony to view the sites. After relaxing for an hour or so, we journeyed down to the spa and recreation area where we burned a few calories on the various pieces of exercise equipment. This was located right next to the lovely indoor saltwater pool and whirlpool.  Unfortunately, we did not have enough time that evening to use the pool because we had dinner reservations at 7:30. We enjoyed an excellent dinner in the dining room in the main building. I ended up having a huge leg of lamb, while Pam had an excellent cut of filet mignon. After dinner we went back to our room and enjoyed the rest of our champagne and a romantic evening in the Jacuzzi. The next day we went back to the dining hall and enjoyed omelets of our choice and amazing home fries. Finally, we culminated our enchanted stay with a 50-minute couples massage at their beautiful and soothing spa. The French Manor so graciously gave us a complimentary gift certificate to apply to the spa treatment of our choice. This was my first massage, and I enjoyed it.  Oh how relaxed we were!

We were able to meet the family that runs the beautiful French Manor Inn. Having a warm welcome from Genevieve Logan-Reese and Bridget Weber added a special touch to our visit to the French Manor. Thank you so much, Genevieve and Bridget, for hosting us! We had a wonderful and relaxing time on our third journey of our Vacation of a Lifetime. We were truly treated like a king and queen at the French Manor.

When you get an opportunity, do yourselves a favor and visit the French Manor Inn in South Sterling, Pennsylvania!  You will not be disappointed!
