Vacation of a Lifetime: Bill & Pam O’Brien

Vacation of a LifetimeThe following blog was written by Bill & Pam O’Brien.

Our vacation of a lifetime began at the Lafayette Inn in Easton, PA. We did not have to travel too far from home to visit this bed and breakfast – about 11 miles! We were greeted at the front desk by Val who checked us in. From there we went to our beautiful two-room suite. The main room had a queen size bed and a fireplace. Off of this room was a sitting room with a trundle bed. The balcony could be accessed from this room, but we didn’t get to utilize it due to the extremely cold weather.

We warmed up in the parlor by the fireplace while relaxing and socializing with the innkeepers, Paul and Laura Di Liello.  They were very personable and friendly. They were there to help make our stay at the Lafayette Inn a most pleasant and memorable one. They imparted their knowledge about the different types of restaurants the city of Easton had to offer. We choose an Italian restaurant down the road from the inn. Paul said, “Bring your appetite with you.” He wasn’t joking about this. The dinner portions were huge.

The Innkeepers Reception is held on Friday and Saturday afternoons from 4-6 p.m. We relaxed with wine and cheese while listening to classical music they had playing in the parlor. The orange poppy seed cake was delicious. We almost didn’t have to eat dinner!

lafayette-03 (640x478)The breakfast was served between 8:00-10:00 a.m. As we were walking down the hallway to the dining area, we could smell the food coming our way. We enjoyed Belgian waffles with other assorted food items. The waffles were delicious! Our stomachs were full when we went back to our room.

We would like to thank Paul and Laura Di Liello for hosting us at their bed and breakfast for our first journey on our vacation of a lifetime. Their inn is beautiful. They take great pride in it and it shows. Keep up the great work!
