Sedona and the Verde Valley make up a paradise for bird watchers. There are year-round opportunities for birding in the area because of its mild climate. It is known to attract about a third of the 900 species of birds in Canada and the United States.
Sedona is an excellent location for a golf getaway. Be sure to check out Sedona Golf Resort, Canyon Mesa Country Club and Oakcreek County Club for places to play.
State Parks are always hot spots for travelers, but Sedona’s are especially interesting. Spend a few hours or an entire day at Slide Rock, Red Rock, or Dead Horse Ranch State Parks.

Bike trails are constantly being added in Sedona and the area already has an extensive network. Just keep in mind that bikes are off limits in specially-designated wilderness areas.
The U.S. Forest Service provides several day-use fishing sites at the Call of the Canyon. The Oak Creek Canyon is another great spot for fishing.
