What a great way to start our Vacation of a Lifetime adventure! The Inn on Lake Granbury was just 50 miles away from our home in the Dallas / Ft. Worth area, but many miles away from the stress of everyday life — and we certainly needed some stress relief.
We were enthusiastically met by innkeepers, Jim and Cathy who showed us to our wonderful accommodations in The Pool House. The inn has the best of both worlds: it’s very quiet and peaceful with soft breezes blowing from Lake Granbury and yet, is well within walking distance of quaint shops, wonderful restaurants and a charming theater in the town of Granbury, Texas. Jim recommended a restaurant and made reservations for us at a time where we could still make a play at the theater. We didn’t coordinate the timing, but we were in town for the annual General Granbury festival, which only added to the experience.
Breakfast the next morning was wonderful. We enjoyed visiting with people from other parts of Texas, and after eating the delicious scrambled eggs and a strawberry dessert, we definitely needed to get in a walk. After exploring the square and celebrating the General’s birthday, we reluctantly headed for home, all stress completely relieved. The Inn on Lake Granbury is one place where we will definitely return after exploring many more Select Registry inns during our Vacation of a Lifetime this year.
