While Labor Day represents the end of summer and summer vacations across the country, it doesn’t have to be the end of great getaways. In fact, it is a perfect time to take a last minute getaway and experience all of the relaxation and comforts that Select Registry’s Canadian inns have to offer.
Both Canada and the United States will take a break to relax this coming Monday to celebrate Labour/Labor Day. Fall typically comes a few weeks earlier to Canada meaning the leaves are already starting to turn and fall harvests are well under way in many areas of the beautiful provinces.
The magnificent state of Oregon is known for many things, not the least of which are its historic and culturally rich towns. Surrounded by awe-inspiring nature, you can go just about anywhere in Oregon and still be in the midst of some of the greenest landscapes, breathing the purest air you can find.
Land with Purity and Splendor
Here at Select Registry, we celebrate one of the country’s most extraordinary states, with its wild coastline, majestic mountains, and rolling valleys dotted with world-class vineyards. Oregon is truly a place where you can enjoy a retreat in the best that nature has to offer, taking advantage of perfectly appointed scenic inns that provide the ultimate in hospitality.
A Prime Location for the Ideal Getaway
You’ve been together for a long time, and maybe you’ve made it a practice to get away on a regular basis through the years. Or maybe it’s only now that you are deciding to take the time to venture out to new areas around the country, or to celebrate an anniversary, or just to take some time in a fresh environment to renew your vision of the world and each other.

There are so many reasons to be attracted to the Evergreen state, not the least of which is the juxtaposition of so much culture along with an endless opportunity to enjoy big nature at its best. Take your pick of Select Registry inns in the area. Depending on the kind of getaway you want to enjoy, whether it is to take part in all that an exceptional city like Portland has to offer or to bask in the vast luxury of Washington’s natural resources, there is an inn perfect for your visit.
You don’t need a reason to get away. When you feel like you’ve had enough of the regular life, it’s time to book something that will take you out of your routine and into a few days of altered reality.

Virginia is celebrating its second annual craft beer month all August long, and many of the Select Registry inns in Virginia are eager to help visitors enjoy the best of craft beer and breweries. Though most don’t think of Virginia first when thinking of beer, the state is home to more than 60 craft breweries, restaurants and bars all with local brews on tap.
With Select Registry inns near most of those 60 craft brewery establishments, staying at a Select Registry inn is an obvious choice for accommodations while exploring what’s on tap.
Waynesboro & Afton
Taking a break from our 2013 Vacation of a Lifetime grand prize winners, here’s an update from Patricia and John Biasuzzi, who took a second place prize of a $500 Select Registry gift certificate. Patricia and John used the opportunity to return to the Dockside Guest Quarters, one of their favorite places to escape.
Recently we enjoyed a wonderful stay at our favorite inn – the lovely Dockside Guest Quarters overlooking picturesque York Harbor, Maine. We have been going to this special place for 12 years and when we arrive, we always feel we have returned “home.”
At Select Registry, getting to know about the magnificent bed & breakfast known as Emerson Inn by the Sea has reawakened our interest in the magnificent American essayist, lecturer, and poet, Ralph Waldo Emerson. Calling the Inn “thy proper summer home,” was Emerson’s testimony to a loyalty he felt to making this gracious Massachusetts inn his favored vacation abode.
A Soulful Approach to Life
Emerson was a great champion of individualism, encouraging his readers to go forward in their personal vision, developing their individuality, and finding greater freedom in personal expression. His concentration on a soulful approach to life is what brought him to the forefront of his generation, and continues to carry his philosophy into our time, as it remains eternally relevant.
